Empowering Farmers with Climate-Smart and Agroecological Practices in Ganjam District
Under OIIPCRA, Govt. of Odisha funded project “Enhancing Resilience of Smallholders to Climate Change Through Sustainable Intensification and Digital Driven Knowledge Dissemination (E-CHASI)” Scientists from ICAR-CRRI, Dr. Sangita Mohanty, Dr. Anjani Kumar, Dr. Raghu S and Dr. B.S. Satapathy from IIWM visited Paliama and Ranjhali villages of Ganjam district to conduct farmers training programmes on “Agroecological Intensification for Enhancing Resilience of Small Holders” and “Climate Smart Agricultural Practices for Enhancing Resilience of Small Holders, respectively on 25.03.2025 and 26.03.2025. More than 100 farmers from Paliama and more than 50 farmers from Ranjhali villages participated in the above programmes in their respective villages. Experts interacted with farmers on various aspects of agroecological intensification and climate smart practices e.g. rice based crop diversification, direct seeded rice, improved nutrient, pest and disease management practices, 4 “R” nutrient stewardship and balanced NPK application following integrated approach.
