Workshop cum training programme on “Upscaling RESILIENCE Climate Smart Agricultural Technologies” organised
One workshop on upscaling RESILIENCE project activities was conducted at ICAR-NRRI Cuttack on 24th January 2023 at Dr. K. Ramiah Conference hall. Co PIs from NRRI, OUAT & MSSRF, KVK officials from seven KVKs (Cuttack, Ganjam I, Ganjam II, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Jagatsighpur), line department officials from Cuttack & Ganjam, CDAO representative Ganjam, & CDAO Cuttack, participated in the workshop programme. The meeting started with welcome by Dr. Rahul Tripathi followed by presentation on “Resilience project- interventions” conducted by NRRI, Cuttack. He also elaborated on upscaling plan for implementation of various CSA technologies validated in RESILIENCE project. Dr. H.K. Sahoo, Professor, OUAT delivered presentation about the progress made by OUAT while Dr. R. Rajkumar, from MSSRF gave presentation about upscaling of VKCs. The presentation by each KVK about the upscaling plan of technologies were made in presence of Director, NRRI. After the presentations, discussions and comments were made by Dr. A.K. Nayak, PI, RESILIENCE & Director, NRRI, Dr. S.D. Mohapatra. Head of Crop Protection Division, Dr. Sanjay Saha, Head of Crop Production Division, Dr. B.B. Panda, Principal scientist & Head RCRRS along with all the participants. Various bottle necks, constraints were discussed for the technologies that are already propagated by state Government and Director, NRRI suggested various solutions to these problems and proposed to prepare a detailed upscaling plan for few technologies. He suggested to identify the technologies, their validation, benefit cost ratio, environmental sustainability, technological barriers and their solutions, incentives from state govt. and their dissemination to other areas for each technology which needs to be upscaled. He also suggested to constitute a drafting committee comprising CO-PIs from each project partners i.e. OUAT, NRRI, MSSRF, IWMI, AAU, KVK coordinators from seven KVKs, line department personnel, CDAO/ CDAO representatives, Cuttack & Ganjam. The meeting ended by vote of thanks by Dr. Supriya Priyadarsani, Scientist & Co-PI, RESILIENCE, NRRI, Cuttack.
