Visit of Director General ICAR to ICAR-NRRI Regional Station CRURRS, Hazaribag
Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR, Dr. Himanshu Pathak visited ICAR-NRRI, Hazaribag Station (CRURRS) on 1 March 2024. He was received by Dr. N.P. Mandal (Head, CRURRS) and other staffs. Dr. Pathak was accompanied by Dr. Sujay, Rakshit, Director, ICAR-IIAB (Ranchi) and Dr. Abhijit Kar, Director, ICAR-NISA (Ranchi).
Head, CRURRS briefed Hon’ble DG about the recent accomplishments of the station such as release of three rice varieties (CR Dhan 804, CR Dhan 808 and CR Dhan 214) through CVRC, diagnostics for pathogens and rice genes, external funding received (DBT & RKVY projects), students and teaching, research collaborations and the current staff position at the station. Hon’ble DG and other dignitaries later visited the laboratories and interacted with the students and project staffs. He appreciated the achievements of the station and motivated the scientific staffs for future research in rice improvement for the rainfed drought prone ecologies.
Later, Hon’ble DG left for ICAR-IARI, Jharkhand Campus at Gauria Karma, Hazaribag for the Kisan Gosthi-cum-Udghatan Samaroh of new buildings on the same day. Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Shri Arjun Munda graced the event as the Chief Guest. NRRI-CRURRS also participated in this event and exhibited NRRI technologies.
