Virtual Training Programme on “Accrual Accounting” organized at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack

The third batch of five days (26-30 July, 2021) Virtual Training on “Accrual Accounting” conducted by ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack in collaboration with Human Resource Management (HRM) unit of ICAR has been concluded successfully on 30th July, 2021. The capacity building programme was conducted for enriching the knowledge, developing professionalism and enhancing competency of the finance and other officers working in ICAR institutes and Head Quarter. The session-wise quizzes, assignments and recapitulating of previous day sessions were attempted by the participants to have a better learning experience.

Dr.G.P. Sharma, Director (Finance), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi along with his team of Deputy Director (Finance), Shri S.K. Pathak, Comptroller, ICAR-IVRI, Shri V.R. Srinivasan, Comptroller, ICAR-IARI, Shri D.D. Verma, Comptroller, ICAR-NDRI, Mrs Sunita Arya, CF&AO, ICAR-CAZRI, Jodhpur and Shri Kanhaiya Chaudhary, Former Director (Special Duty), ICAR and other resource persons delivered the sessions through virtual mode on administrative and finance matters through blend of lectures through PPT/self-exploration instruments, case analysis etc., Dr S.K. Das, the Course Director, highlighted the importance of accrual accounting in ICAR in present context.

The training covered most basic and advanced level of accrual accounting like Principles and Concepts, Accounting Standards, Significant Accounting Policies, preparation of final accounts, Depreciation & Reserves, Computerised Accounting through TSA/PFMS, GFR, GST, Income Tax, Audit Report of on Annual Account of ICAR etc.

43 (forty three) administrative personnel of administrative and finance wing such as Assistant Finance & Accounts Officers, Finance & Accounts Officers, Assistant Administrative Officers and other officers representing from 17 States/UTs from 33 ICAR institutes and Head Quarter virtually participated in the programme from all the Subject Matter Division of ICAR.

Dr A.K. Vyas, Assistant Director General (HRM) & Training Manager, ICAR stressed upon the HRM policy of ICAR in general and importance of human resource development in particular. Dr. D. Maiti, Director, NRRI in his address highlighted the need for developing professionals amongst Finance & Accounts Officers and Administrative Officers in ICAR system. Shri Santosh Kumar Sethi, course co-coordinator offered vote of thanks and acknowledged the whole hearted support and cooperation of Dr. Ranjan Kumar Mohanta, course coordinator and all concerned for making the programme a grand success.
