Vigilance Awareness Week-2023
ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 30th October to 5th November 2023 with the theme “Say no to corruption: commit to the nation” (भ्रष्टाचार को ना कहें: राष्ट्र के प्रति प्रतिबद्ध रहें). In the inaugural ceremony, Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, NRRI, Cuttack delivered a thought-provoking lecture on vigilance awareness in research institutes and shared his views on scientific/research vigilance and mitigation of corruption in research ethics. The National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) was observed on 31st October to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Ballavbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India by taking Unity pledge. A video on awareness building about “Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) resolution” also prepared in English, Hindi and Odia. Various activities like essay, debate, quiz and extempore competitions in English, Hindi and Odia were taken up during the week. Altogether 60 participants from scientific, technical, administration, students, RAs, SRFs, and students participated in the competitions. The results of various competitions were declared and prizes were distributed during valedictory function which was held on 13th November 2023 under the chairmanship of Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, NRRI, Cuttack and the event was co-chaired by Dr. P. Bhattacharyya, Vigilance Officer, ICAR-NRRI. Dr. D. Chatterjee was the Organizing Secretary of the week-long event.
