Training programme on “Improved Package of Practices for Scientific Cultivation of Rice” started on 11th October, 2023 at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack
Training programme on “Improved Package of Practices for Scientific Cultivation of Rice” sponsored by SMART Project, Kolhapur, Maharashtra started on 11th October, 2023 at ICAR-National Rice Research Institute. Altogether thirty three farmers/farmwomen including three officers from the Maharashtra State Government are participating in the training programme. The participant includes twenty seven male and six female participants varied from 24 to 60 age group. They are having 6 to 40 years of farming experience. During the programme various topics related to the rice cultivation are being delivered. The topic covered during the two days are “Rice varieties suitable for different agro-ecological conditions of Maharashtra”, “Quality seed production in rice crop”, “Entrepreneurial opportunities in rice farming”, “Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Rice”, “Integrated Disease Management (DM) in rice”, “Processing and value addition in rice”, “Farm management and economics in rice cultivation”, etc. The programme is coordinated by Dr. S. Paul and Dr. N. N. Jambhulkar under the supervision of Dr. G. A. K. Kumar, Head, Social Sciences Division and guidance of Dr. A. K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack.
