Training Programme on “Accrual Accounting” organized at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack

The fifth batch of five days Training programme on “Accrual Accounting” has been organized by the ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, Odisha from 22nd to 26th November, 2021through virtual mode for enriching the knowledge, enhancing competency, efficiency and developing professionalism among the Finance& Accounts Officer, Administrative Officer and other officers working in ICAR institutes.
Dr.G.P. Sharma, Director, Finance,Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi along with his team of Deputy Director (Finance) and Shri D.D. Verma, Comptroller, National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Shri S.K. Pathak, Comptroller, ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Shri V.R.Srinivasan, Comptroller, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, and Mrs Sunita Arya, Chief Finance & Accounts Officer, ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur and other resource persons delivered the sessions virtually and interacted with the participants during the trainingprogramme and clarified their doubts on many aspects. The training covered most basic and advanced level of accrual accounting, GST, GFR, TSA, Income Tax etc.The session-wise quizzes, assignments and recapitulation of previous day sessions were attempted by the participants to have a better learning experience.
Dr. D.Maiti, Director, NRRI in his address at valedictory session stressed upon the importance of capacity building programme for administrative personnel of ICAR and Shri G.P.Sharma, Director, Finance while grading the present training programme as best programme in the ICAR system insisted the participants for applying the learning at back home situation. Shri V.R. Srinivasan, Comptroller, IARI accentuated the record keeping and accrual accounting and Shri S.K.Pathak, Comptroller, IVRI emphasised learning as a continuous process and younger generation should participate more number in such capacity building programme.
53 (fifty-three) participants from 39 ICAR institutes representing from 20 States/UTs participated in the training programme.
Dr. Sunil Kumar Das, Sr.Finance & Accounts Officer and Course Director presented the report, Shri V. Ganesh Kumar, Senior Administrative Officer and Dr. Ranjan Kumar Mohanta, SMS and Course Co-ordinatorextended their whole hearted support for smooth conducting of the training programme. Shri Santosh Kumar Sethi, Technical Officer (ARIS Cell) & Course Co-coordinator offered vote of thanks for the support and cooperation of all concerned for making the programme a grand success.
