Training programme conducted on “Techniques of Pesticide Application and Management of BPH”  
A three-day training programme was conducted on “Techniques of Pesticide Application and Management of BPH” sponsored by ATMA, Bargarh (Odisha) from 18th to 20th September 2019 for 25 progressive farmers from Attabira, Bheden and Bhatli block of Bargarh district. The training was organized at ICAR- NRRI, Cuttack under the supervision of Course Director Dr. P C. Rath, Head Crop Protection Division and was coordinated by Mr. Annamalai M and Dr. Somnath Pokhare. This training programme enriched farmers’ knowledge on use of appropriate pesticide at right time and at right doses employing proper application techniques, to manage different insect pests and diseases with special emphasis on brown planthopper (BPH) management. The valedictory session was addressed by Director, ICAR-NRRI, Dr. Himanshu Pathak who highlighted the contribution of Bargarh district in Odisha’s rice production and also requested farmers to disseminate the techniques learnt in the training programme to other farmer friends in their location.
