Training program on NRRI-biofertilizer model & reclamation of acid soils was organized at Dhenkanal District on 27.09.24

A training program on NRRI-biofertilizer model to farming community of Odisha & Reclamation of acid soils through Basic-slag & fly ash was organized at Kantapal, Block- Kankadahada of Dhenkanal District, Odisha under the projects “Production, Popularization and Supply of Quality Bioinoculants for Rice-based Cropping and Farming System of Odisha” (Bio-ପୋଷକ) & SAFAR respectively on 27.09.24. This program is coordinated by the Course Director and PI of Bio-ପୋଷକ project, Dr. Upendra Kumar and Dr. Pratap Bhattacharya, Head CPD and PI of SAFAR project & Co-coordinated by Dr. B Mondal, Dr. S Paul, Dr. Rubina Khanam & Dr. DR Sarangi. NRRI biofertilizer model and use of NRRI-EndoN/Endo-NPK/Azolla/Rhizobia, Trichoderma, Tech-Decomposer in rice, pulses and vegetables were explained by Dr. Upendra Kumar, whereas Dr. B Mondal focussed on the economic aspects of biofertilizers and Dr. S Paul explained regarding Importance & recommendations of Biofertilizers. Dr. Pratap Bhattacharya focussed on Reclamation of acid soils through basic slag & Economic and ecofriendly utilization of fly ash as soil amendment. Dr. Rubina Khanam & Dr. DR Sarangi focussed on the importance of soil sampling & soil health card. A total number of 150 farmers and project staff have participated and benefitted from this program in the presence of Sarpanch, Kantapal Panchayat, Mrs Tilatamma Singh and BAO of Kankadahada Mr. Pritam Prusty. Soil health card and Eco-lime product were also distributed among farmers.
