Training cum Demonstration program on CRRI biofertilizer model organized at Gadaguatira, Nimapada of Puri District 

Training cum Demonstration on CRRI biofertilizer model to farming community of Odisha was organized at Gadaguatira, Nimapada of Puri District, Odisha under the project “ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ” (Jaiva-poshak) on 28.01.2025. This program is coordinated by Scientists from ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack, Dr. Upendra Kumar, Principal Investigator of the project & Dr. P Pannerselvam, Principal Scientist & Dr. AK Mukherjee, Principal Scientist. External resource persons Dr. Debasis Raymohapatra, Asst. Professor from CUTM & Dr. Niranjan Chinara Asst. Professor from OUAT and Mrs. Puspita Rajguru, Principal of Nimpada College were also present in this program. Advantages of NRRI-Tech Decomposer was explained to the farmers followed by practical demonstration of 1 ton rice straw which can be decomposed into around 450 kg of compost in a period of 45 days by application of 10 kg cow dung, 5 kg urea & 1 kg Tech Decomposer which improves soil organic carbon & enhances plant nutrition, soil health for the next crop; a wealth from waste approach to improve farmers income. Dr. Upendra Kumar emphasized on ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ (Jaiva-poshak) project & benefits of using NRRI EndoN to replace harmful chemical fertilizers and demonstrated the application of NRRI EndoN in different vegetable crops. Dr. AK Mukherjee has elaborated the importance of Trichoderma as biofertilizer and demonstrated seed treatment in green gram. A total number of 70 farmers including farm women have participated and benefitted from this program. Project staffs were also involved in this program for its success. This unique CRRI biofertilizer model for farming community of Odisha is supported by Department of Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment by Govt of Odisha under ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ (Jaiva-poshak) project.
