Training cum Demonstration on CRRI biofertilizer model was organized at Patrapalli village, Batli block, Bargarh district on 25.02.2025 

Training cum Demonstration on CRRI biofertilizer model to farming community of Odisha was organized at Patrapalli village, Bhatli block, Bargarh district on 25.02.2025 under the project Jaiva-poshak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ). Dr. Upendra Kumar Senior Scientist of CRRI, is the Principal Investigator of this innovative project. This program was moderated by the progressive farmer Sri Jayanarayan. This program was coordinated by Dr. AK Mukherjee & Dr. P Pannerselvam, Principal Scientists from CRRI. Dr. Nrusingh Barik, Sr. Scientist & Head KVK Bargarh, Sri Biren Kumar Chhuria, Agriculture District Officer, Bargarh were present. Dr. AK Mukherjee has elaborated on the CRRI biofertilizer model followed by benefits and applications of Rhizobium & Trichoderma to improve yield in pulse crops. Dr. Pannerselvam has emphasized and demonstrated on the decomposition of rice straw into valuable compost utilising NRRI-Tech Decomposer along with cow dung and urea. Dr. Nrusingh Barik has focused on the importance and need for application of biofertilizers to conserve soil and environmental health. Sri Biren Kumar Chhuria has explained the status of crops and agriculture at Bhatli block and recommended farmers to utilize biofertilizers including Azolla which have potential to supplement Nitrogen requirements to crops. Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli, Research Associate of the project has elaborated the objectives of the project and methods to improve soil health by the application of NRRI-biofertilizers i.e; NRRI Endo-N & NRRI Endo-NPK which can compensate the chemical fertilizer requirement by 25%, thereby decreasing the input costs on agriculture without compromising yield. This program was facilitated by Sri Sarat Chandra Sahoo, Technical staff and other project staff of CRRI and around 72 farmers and farmwomen have actively participated and benefitted from this program.
