Swachhata Pakhwada-2023
ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack organized Swachhata Pakhwada – 2023 with a day to day multifaceted activities during 16-31 December, 2023. On the inauguration day, Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack administered “Swachhata Pledge” to all the staff members and others involved in Institute activities. During the period from 16-31 December 2023, the Institute Swachha Bharat Committee organized six Swachhata (cleaning) drives; two Plantation drives; three competitions (essay and painting) among different categories of CRRI Govt. High School students; Celebration of “Special Day-Kishan Diwas” in Bhadimula village, Bidyadharpur, Cuttack; four “Awareness drives on non-use of Single Use Plastics, polythenes”; and two “Health Camps”. On January 02, 2024, during the program’s capstone, Ms. Sanjeebita Roy, Deputy Commissioner (Sanitation), Cuttack Municipal Corporation, was the chief guest and delivered an insightful, valuable and inspiring talk on ‘The Wealth Centres in urban Odisha’ and distributed prizes to the students winners of CRRI High School, Cuttack. Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack delivered his presidential remarks on various forms of waste management in agriculture. Shri V. Ganesh Kumar, SAO spoke about the office digitization, e-filing, weeding out files, condemnation of scrap materials. Chairman, NRRI Campus Development Committee, Dr. M.J. Baig, spoke regarding the CDC’s initiatives. The CRRI Govt. High School Assistant Headmaster gave a speech regarding the school’s swachhata initiatives. Dr. S. Lenka, Chairman, Institute Swachh Bharat Committee welcomed all the dignitaries and briefed about the activities of Swachhata Pakhwada and Dr. N.N. Jambhulkar, Nodal Officer, Swachhata Pakhwada-2023 offered a vote of thanks.
