ICAR-NRRI organized the “Swachhata Hi Sewa-2024” campaign with the theme “Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskar Swachhata” on 21st and 22nd September 2024.
On 21st September, a human chain event was held at Bhadimula village to raise awareness on cleanliness and sanitation. Dr. S. Lenka, Chairman of the Institute Swachha Committee, led discussions with local residents, emphasizing active participation in maintaining hygiene in households and the village. Thirty-five participants, including women from the village, engaged in interactive discussions on preventing waterlogging, especially in light of the dengue threat.
On 22nd September, a cleaning drive was conducted on the Institute premises, where 30 participants, including staff and outsourced workers, cleared an area of 420 sq. ft. near the Electrical Maintenance Unit. Grasses and weeds were removed using tools, and the waste was safely disposed of.
