National Statistics Office, Bhubaneswar & ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack Organized Regional Training Camp for Data Surveyors & Supervisor
A Regional Training Camp on Annual Survey of Unincorporated Services Enterprises (ASUSE) and Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) was held from December 23 to 24, 2024, at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack, organized by the National Statistics Office (Field Operation Division), Regional Office, Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack. The event aimed to enhance the capacity of field officials, including Survey Enumerators and Survey Supervisors, and was attended by around 100 participants. Shri Panchanan Dash, ISS, Former Secretary, MSME, Government of Odisha, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack and Dr. B.B. Nanda, Director, Department of Economics & Statistics, Odisha were the guests of honour during inaugural programme. Shri Anupam Lahiri, ISS, Deputy Director General, National Statistics Office, Bhubaneswar presided over the function. Dignitaries have underscored the critical role of data for nation development through informed decision-making, business growth & efficiency, scientific breakthroughs, etc. and emphasized the need of accurate data collection. Inaugural programme featured with welcome address by Shri Tapan Kumar Mishra, Assistant Director, National Statistics Office, and vote of thanks delivered by Shri P.K. Mallik, Assistant Director, National Statistics Office, Bhubaneswar. Two days’ deliberations include concepts and definitions, schedules, establishments, details on Periodic Labour Force Survey, etc. Dr. B. Mondal, Principal Scientist, ICAR-NRRI, was the coordinator from ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack.
