Lal Bahadur Shastri Outstanding Young Scientist Award – 2021 of ICAR

The prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri Outstanding Young Scientist Award – 2021 of the council is conferred to Dr. Koushik Chakraborty, Senior Scientist, Plant Physiology in the category of Crop & Horticultural Sciences and Dr. Rahul Tripathi, Senior Scientist, Soil Science in the category of Natural Resource Management & Agricultural Engineering during the council’s 94th Foundation Day and Award Ceremony on 16 July, 2022. It carries an individual award of Rs. 1.00 lakh in cash and a challenge project for three years with budgetary provision of Rs. 10.00 lakh per year, Rs. 5.00 lakh for a foreign training (3 months). The award was presented by the honourable Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ welfare, Govt. of India Shri Narendra Singh Tomar in presence of the honourable Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Parshottam Rupala, Minister of State, Agriculture, GoI, Shri Kailash Choudhary, Dr. Ramesh Chand, Member of Niti Ayog (Agriculture), GoI and the Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Director General of ICAR at the A.P. Shinde Symposium Hall of NASC Complex, New Delhi.
