Interaction meet with Biocontrol Entrepreneurs and Distribution of Equipments for Biocontrol Unit
As part of ongoing programme an interaction meet with NRRI incubated Entrepreneurs on mass-production of Bio agents was organized on 1 April 2024 under the aegis of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) project “BioBank: Production and promotion of biocontrol agents and entrepreneurship development in aspirational districts of Odisha”. Intensive deliberations were made on creating a profitable biocontrol agents venture with their quality assurance and timely supply to farmers and other stakeholders. During the event, Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was also signed between these Entrepreneurs from Kalahandi, Koraput, Balangir, Kandhamal and Malkangiri districts and ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack. It is planned to start the production of biocontrol agents by June 2024 by the entrepreneurs. Farmers will be benefitted from this endeavors. The programme was chaired by Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, and attended by Dr. S.D. Mohapatra, Head, Crop Protection Division, HoD’s and staff of the Crop Protection Division. Dr. Basana Gowda G, PI of the project coordinated the event and Dr. Raghu S proposed a formal vote of thanks.
