Inspiring Figures: Honouring Icons at NRRI

The naming of five smart class-rooms classrooms developed at the National Rice Research Institute (NRRI) in honour of prominent personalities like Bharat Ratna Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, Shree Narayana Guru, Shrimati Savitribai Phule, Babu Jagjivan Ram, and Shri Ram Nath Kovind reflects a deep reverence for their contributions to society and their inspirational legacies. These individuals, renowned for their dedication to social justice, education, and public service, embody values that align with NRRI’s mission of promoting agricultural research and societal welfare. By naming classrooms after these esteemed figures, NRRI pays homage to their enduring impact and seeks to inspire future generations of researchers and students to emulate their principles of equality, empowerment, and service to humanity. This gesture not only honours their memory but also serves as a reminder of the importance of advancing knowledge and fostering inclusivity in the pursuit of scientific excellence at NRRI.
These class-rooms were inaugurated by Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Hon’ble Secretary, DARE and DG, ICAR through virtual mode and in the presence of Dr. R.C. Agrawal, DDG (Education), ICAR, New Delhi; Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack, Dr. P.K. Roul, Vice Chancellor, OUAT, Bhubaneswar & Dr. S.K. Pradhan, ADG (FFC), ICAR, New Delhi during 79th Foundation Day and Dhan Diwas of ICAR-NRRI on 23 April, 2024.
