ICAR-NRRI organizing a high end workshop on GC-MSMS from 22-31 July, 2024

ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack is organizing a high end workshop on “GC-MSMS for quantification of pesticides and profiling of metabolites” during 22-31 July, 2024. The workshop has been sponsored by Accelerate Vigyan scheme of Science and Engineering Research Board, India. Thirty number of Ph.D. and M.Sc. students representing 24 institutes from 16 different states are participating in the workshop.
Dr. Jitendra Kumar, Assistant Director General, NASF, ICAR graced the inaugural session as the Chief Guest and suggested the trainees to incorporate the skills in their future research work. Prof. V. K. Jain, Former Director, Environment and Natural Resources, Gujarat University graced the occasion as Guest of Honour and suggested the role of GCMS in analytical chemistry. Dr. M.J. Baig, Director (In-charge) of ICAR-NRRI highlighted the significance of the training program. Dr. S. D. Mohapatra, Head, Crop Protection Division and Patron of the workshop welcomed the dignitaries, participants and highlighted the importance of high end equipments like GC-MSMS in pesticide residue monitoring and metabolite profiling. Dr. Totan Adak, Course Director of the workshop briefed about the objectives and content of the course and expected active participation of the trainees during the practical and theory sessions. The participants introduced themselves and highlighted their interest in the application of GC-MSMS as analytical tools in their respective research areas. Dr. G.P. Pandi G proposed the vote of thanks.
