ICAR NRRI organized training programme on eddy covariance

ICAR- National Rice Research Institute (NRRI), Cuttack, in collaboration with the Campbell Scientific India Pvt. Ltd., National Academy of Agricultural Science (NAAS), Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Chapter, Indian Society of Soil Science (ISSS), Cuttack Chapter and Indian National Young Academy of Science, East Zone organized one-day workshop and training on “An introduction of eddy covariance technique from theories to instruments and to data processing” on June 07, 2024 in hybrid mode. A total of 27 participants attended the training program covering faculties, students and technical from ICAR NRRI and National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar.
The programme was commenced with an inaugural session chaired by Director NRRI. The guest was welcomed by Dr. Pratap Bhattacharyya (Convener), HoD, Crop Production Division. Dr Dibyendu Chatterjee (Organizing Secretary) introduced the chief guest, Dr Bai Yang, Sales Engineer, Campbell Scientific Inc., Logan, Utah and briefed about the programme. Director NRRI (chairman) and chief guest enlighten the participants about the importance of eddy covariance training. The programme was closed with the vote of thanks by Dr. Sumanta Chatterjee (Co-Organizing Secretary).
In technical session, Dr. Bai Yang covered wide aspect of eddy covariance theory, turbulence, data collection, corrections, and gap filling. The lecture ended at 6 pm in the evening.
