ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack imparts technical skills to local blacksmiths from Odisha for development of small farm implements in five days Skill based Entrepreneurship Development Program (SEDP) on “Skill enhancement of potential entrepreneur for development of small farm equipment”
A five-day training programme on “Skill enhancement of potential entrepreneur for development of small farm equipment” was organized from 18th – 22nd December, 2023 at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack under Agribusiness Incubation Centre. Eight numbers of local entrepreneurs from Odisha participated in this programme. Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, Head, Social Science Division, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack discussed the importance of small farm equipment in agriculture. Dr. P.C. Jena, Senior Scientist, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack delivered a lecture on “tools & techniques for fabrication of small implements”. He along with Er. Surya Lenka, has provided hands on training for welding, shaping, milling, grinding, sheet cutting & rolling, fabrication of cono-weeder & its repair & maintenance. Dr. Manish Debnath, Scientist, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack has guided the participants in fabrication of solar powered sprayer & its repair & maintenance.
The valedictory session was chaired by Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack who extended the institute’s support to the local blacksmiths in strengthening their skill for development of small farm equipment. This entire training programme was organized and coordinated by ABI staff members viz., Dr. Abdul Akbar and Shruti Snata Panda.
