ICAR-NRRI bagged the Overall Runners-up Trophy in Zonal Sports Tournament 2023
ICAR-NRRI sports contingent participated in the ICAR Zonal Sports Tournament-2022 organized by ICAR-IVRI, Izatnagar during 24th to 27th April 2023. Dr. P.S. Hanjagi was the Chef De Mission and Shri Nishank Kumar Swain was the Team Manager of the 50 member sports Contingent. ICAR-NRRI participated in all the sports events in the Zonal sports tournament-2022 with great sporting spirit and discipline. The institute received Gold Medals in various team events like Cricket, Football, Volleyball Shooting, Kabbadi, and Runners up of Men’s Badminton team event and 4 x 100 m women’s relay. Shri Arun Kumar Parida won gold in Carrom event; Ms. Saraswati Bhoi won gold in Javelin throw and bronze in shot put throw; Shri Arabinda Bisoi won gold in discuss throw; Shri Rakesh Behera won bronze in 100 m race; Shri Jiten Kumar Sahu won silver in Men’s Javelin throw; Smt. Bijaylaxmi Das Pattanayak won Silver in women’s long jump. ICAR-NRRI became the Overall Runners up of the ICAR Zonal Sports Tournament-2023 while, ICAR-IVRI, Izatnagar was the overall champion of sports tournament.
