Hindi workshop organized at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack

In accordance with the rules of the Department of Official Language, a Hindi workshop titled ‘Application of Unicode in Hindi Typing’ was organized on 29 December 2022 under the direction of Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack for the scientists in the Conference Room of the Institute.
Shri B.K. Mohanty, Hindi translator welcomed all the participants of the workshop and drew attention to the instructions laid down in the provisions issued by the Department of Official Language for the use of Unicode supported open type fonts in the computers in central government offices and to train the employees regarding the Unicode system. He explained to the participants about the necessity of working in Hindi in e-office through Unicode system. A total of 22 scientists participated in this workshop.
In the workshop, the participants were given practical training with regard to Hindi translation by activating Mangal font of Unicode by typing in English with the help of phonetic or Inscript keyboard and the participants individually practiced typing in Hindi through Unicode on computer. Along with this, the participants were given information about various e-tools like Google Translate, Online Hindi Dictionary, E-Saral Hindi Vyakakosh etc. to work in Hindi in the e-office system.
