Hindi Scientific Seminar organized at ICAR-NRRI
As a part of Hindi Fortnight celebration-2023, a Hindi Scientific Seminar on “Contribution of modern technologies in the upgradation and development of the country through natural resources” was organized at the National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack on 25 September 2023. The Director, all Heads of Divisions, scientists, technical personnel and scholars of the institute participated in this seminar.
Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack heartily welcomed all the HODs, scientists, participants and other staff. Dr. Rahul Tripathi, Senior Scientist of Crop Production Division briefed the gathering about the objective of the seminar, its necessity and importance. Various speakers deliberated in this seminar.
Dr. Sangita Mohanty, Senior Scientist of Crop Production Division deliberated on “Integrated Nutrient Management in Rice crop”; Dr. Ram Lakhan Verma, Senior Scientist of Crop Improvement Division articulated on “Increase in productivity through climate smart rice varieties”; Dr. Raghu.S, Scientist of Crop Protection Division gave an lecture on “Biological agents for controlling pests in rice crop’’; Dr. Raghevendra Gowda, Scientist of Crop Production Division dwelt at length on “Natural & organic Farming in Rice-based Cropping systems” and Dr. Supriya Priyadarshini, Scientist of Crop Production Division enunciated about “Rice Mechanization Using Direct Seeded Rice and Mechanized Transplanting Methods”. After deliberations an open discussion and interactive session was held where the august gathering quizzed the speakers to satisfy their different queries.
Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack while addressing the seminar said that modern technologies have the potential to transform the management and utilization of natural resources for the better. For research to have a social or economic impact, effective dissemination and communication are crucial. NRRI has been disseminating scientific research through various mediums of mass communication. He continued by saying that the institute’s mission will only be significant if it is conveyed to the farming community and other stakeholders in Hindi. The advancement of Hindi is significantly aided by the organization of this kind of scientific conference. He thanked the organizing committee and the speakers for making the seminar a success and urged similar events in Hindi to be held in the future. Shri B.K.
