Field day on Microbial formulations for enhancing nutrient use efficiency in rice
Training program cum field day on Microbial formulations for enhancing nutrient use efficiency in rice was organized at Sahada village of Bhadrak District under the project ‘Enhancing resilience of smallholders to climate change through sustainable intensification and digital driven knowledge dissemination (E- CHASI)’ on 17.03.2025. Dr. AK Nayak, Director-NRRI, is the Principal Investigator of this project which is funded by Govt. of Odisha. This program was coordinated by Dr. Upendra Kumar, Senior Scientist. He has emphasized on the resilience of small holding farmers through the applications of biofertilizers which can decrease input costs on chemical fertilizers. Replacement of harmful chemical fertilizers with these microbial formulations will help in Agro ecological intensification by protecting the environment. He has also explained the use of CRRI biofertilizers Endo N & Endo NPK which can compensate the N P K requirements by 25% without compromising yield. Mr. Manoj Kumar Nayak, along with other project staff have facilitated the program, where a total number of 120 farmers & farm women have participated and benefitted from this program.
