District Level Kisan Mela-cum-Horticultural Exhibition Empowers Farmers in Koderma
ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Koderma, in collaboration with the State Department of Agriculture and Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), organized a District Level Kisan Mela-cum-Horticultural Exhibition on March 6, 2025. The event was graced by Sri Rituraj (IAS), Deputy Development Commissioner, Koderma, as the Chief Guest, and Smt. Anju Devi, Block Pramukh, Jainagar, as the Guest of Honor, along with other dignitaries. More than 12 stalls were set up, showcasing the latest advancements in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and fisheries, with active participation from various government departments, NGOs, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). The exhibition provided valuable insights into government schemes and modern agricultural practices aimed at enhancing farmers’ income and promoting sustainable farming. A key highlight was the display of high-quality farm produce by local farmers, which was assessed by a panel of expert scientists from ICAR-KVK and the State Agriculture Department under different categories. With an overwhelming participation of over 800 farmers, the event served as a crucial platform for knowledge exchange, fostering innovation, and encouraging commercial farming to improve livelihoods and income security in the region.
