Dhan Diwas and Foundation Day of National Rice Research Institute celebrated at CRURRS, Hazaribag
“79th Foundation Day” of National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, Odisha cum “Dhan Diwas” was celebrated on 23 April 2024 at its regional station Central Rainfed Upland Rice Research (CRURRS) station, Hazaribagh. Students from Agriculture Faculty of AISECT University, Hazaribag along with the Dean and other teachers took part in the programme. Dr. Shiv Mangal Prasad, Principal Scientist of the station highlighted about the research and other accomplishments related to rice in rainfed upland region. Dr. Priyamedha, Scientist narrated about the establishment of the institute and its role in relieving the country from the problem of hunger. Dr. Soumya Saha described about the paddy varieties suitable for Jharkhand. Students were taken to laboratories and shown the video clips related to advanced agricultural techniques. A total of 55 students/teachers/scientists/individuals participated in this function. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. B.C. Verma.
