Capacity building programs of Board members of five Farmer Producer Companies of Cuttack district was organized at ICAR-NRRI
Capacity building program of Board members of five Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) from five blocks of Cuttack district was organized from 14-18 & 21-25 Sep, 2021 at Brahmani hall of Social Science Division. Cuttack 4S4R Seed Farmer Producer Company Limited, Niali 4S4R Farmer Producer Company Limited, Athagarh 4S4R Farmer Producer Company Limited, Badamba 4S4R Farmer Producer Company Limited and Bankadurg 4S4R Farmer Producer Company Limited. Dr.G.A.K. Kumar, P.I of the project and Head, Social Science Division had interacted with the members from all the FPCs. He reviewed the progress of their quality rice seed business. He emphasized on diversification of the FPCs to uptake other profitable businesses in addition to seed production. There were sessions on prospects of starting a mini rice mill and fertilizer business to diversify their FPCs. Assistant Director of MSME Shri Subhas Kumar Sahu and Agriculture District Officer Shri Sarat Kumar Tosh conducted the respective sessions. Business plans of the FPCs members were reviewed by Dr.Biswajit Mondal, Principal Scientist, Social Science Division. This program is organized by Agribusiness Incubation Centre and funded by the project- IT enabled Self Sufficient Seed System for rice (4S4R). Project staff of Agribusiness Incubation Centre managed the program.
