Awareness-cum-training Programme on the Occasion of ‘Poshan Pakhwada’ under SCSP Banner
An awareness and training program on “Malnutrition and Rice-Based Value-Added Products for Health Management” was conducted at Nariso village, Balipatna block, Khorda district, on April 21, 2025, in which 98 farm-women participated. Dr. Biswajit Mondal, Chairman of the SCSP Program, addressed the participants, highlighting the significance of proper nutrition, healthy eating habits, and the potential action plans under the SCSP initiative. Dr. Srikanta Lenka, Principal Scientist and Member of the SCSP Program, encouraged Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to explore mushroom production and other initiatives that could promote both nutrition and livelihood opportunities. Dr. Sujata Sethy, Scientist in Home Science at KVK, Cuttack, spoke about the role of the “Poshan Pakhwada” campaign in promoting family health and urged the farm-women to foster good food habits within their households. She also provided insights into various government programs and schemes that aim to tackle malnutrition and improve the health of children, adolescent girls, expectant mothers, and the elderly. The event was supported by Sri KC Palaur, Technical Officer, and Soumya Ranjan Pradhan, Field Assistant. Mr. Sukanta Teadi, Farmer Leader, concluded the program with a formal vote of thanks.
