An ATMA sponsored 5-day training programme inaugurated at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack
The inaugural function of a 5-day training programme on “Improved Package of Practices for Enhancing Rice Productivity and Profitability” sponsored by the ATMA, Darbhanga, Bihar was held this morning at the ICAR – National Rice Research Institute (NRRI), Cuttack. The function was attended by 23 participating farmers and 2 Agricultural Officers from Darbhanga. The programme was chaired by Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI. Dr. Nayak focused on climate-resilient agricultural technologies including climate-smart varieties, nature-positive sustainable agricultural practices, crop rotation, outreach initiative to link small and marginal farmers with cold storage facilities and local markets. Dr. S.D. Mohapatra, Head, Crop Protection Division highlighted the digital plant protection technologies to boost rice farming. Dr. B. Mondal, Head, SSD extended a warm welcome to the participants and assured them of an effective learning environment. Dr. N.N. Jambhulkar, Dr S. Paul, Senior Scientists, SSD were the Course Directors of the training programme which will come to an end on the 5th of this month.
