An ATMA sponsored 5-day training programme inaugurated at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack
The inaugural function of a 5-day training programme on “Improved Rice Production Technologies” sponsored by the ATMA, Madhubani, Bihar was held this morning at the ICAR – National Rice Research Institute (NRRI), Cuttack. The function was attended by 28 participating farmers and 2 Agricultural Officers from Madhubani. The programme was chaired by Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI. Dr. Nayak in his motivating remarks emphasized the importance of adopting climate-resilient agricultural technologies including climate-smart varieties, nature-positive sustainable agricultural practices, crop rotation, and digital tools for productivity and profitability in rice farming. Dr. G.A.K. Kumar, Head, SSD extended a warm welcome to the participants and assured them of an effective learning environment. Dr. B. Mondal, Principal Scientist, SSD and Co-Course Director proposed the formal vote of thanks. Dr S. Paul, Senior Scientist, SSD was the Course Director of the training programme which will come to an end on the 8th of this month.
