Web-training on ‘Post-flood Management’ organized at ICAR-NRRI

Flood situation is currently prevailing over 20 districts in Odisha affecting more than 20 lakh people, 4 lakh livestock and 2 lakh hectares of cropped land. In order to train the farming community, extension professionals and common public, ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack and Krishi Vigyan Kendra Cuttack jointly organized a web-training on ‘Post-flood management of rice, horticultural crops and livestock in the rice-based ecosystem’ on September 8, 2020 as a part of celebration of 75th years of existence of ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack. Out of 255 registered for the training, about 150 participants including farmers, extension personnel of line departments, KVK officers joined the web-training from across Odisha state. Post flood management of rice, horticultural crops and livestock were discussed elaborately by the experts from NRRI and KVK, Cuttack, namely Dr Bhabani Shankar Satapathy, Dr Tusar Ranjan Sahoo and Dr Ranjan Kumar Mohanta.
Director of the institute Dr Dipankar Maiti inaugurated the web-training and presided over the function. Dr GAK Kumar, Head, Social Science Division briefed about the objectives and timeliness of the program. At the outset, Dr SK Mishra welcomed the participant guests and at the end Dr. Sujata Sethy, Head, KVK, Cuttack proposed the vote of thanks. Course Directors Dr SK Mishra, Dr NN Jambhulkar and Dr RK Mohanta coordinated the program.
