Induction and Orientation Training Programme for Directly Recruited Technical Assistant Inaugurated
The inaugural function of One-month Induction and Orientation Training Programme for directly recruited Field/ Technical Assistant was organized by ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack on 19th September 2018.
In the inaugural address, Dr. H Pathak Director of the institute extended warm welcome to the newly recruited Technical Assistants. In his special lecture on NRRI: Past, Present and Future delivered on this occasion, he highlighted the salient achievements of NRRI and informed the history behind the establishment of the National Rice Research Institute at Cuttack. Besides, he also stated the major contribution of NRRI in the Green Revolution in Indiaand role of NRRI in the development of miracle rice variety IR 8. He advised the newly recruited technical staff to get acquainted with all the staff, facilities and operations of sophisticated equipment in the Institute. He has also emphasized the punctuality, discipline, hardworking and sincerity are the key to success of any job.
Dr. S Samantaray, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer (HRD) welcomed all the newly recruited Field/ Technical Assistant and other staff who have attended the function and emphasized the need of orientation training for bringing them into the mainstream of rice research activities and make them comfortable and help them to know all the staff before starting their specific job in the institute.
Later, all the newly recruited Technical Assistants given their introduction and assured the house to maintain the sanctity of the Institute.
Head of different Divisions addressed the gathering and briefed about the on-going activities of respective divisions and advised the newly recruited Technical Assistant to take the advantage from the Induction and Orientation Training programme.
Dr.S D Mohapatra, Principal Scientist& Co-Nodal Officer, HRD informed the house that as per ICAR HRM Policy-2018, the directly recruited Technical Assistant (T3) shall have to undergo an induction and orientation training of one-month duration. Based on this policy, the Induction and Orientation Training Programme is being organized for the first time in the institute. In the month-long programme, the newly recruited Technical Assistants will be orientated towards on-going activities, interaction with Scientists and other staff, visit to division-wise, unit-wise different facilities, experimental fields, operations of high-end equipment like electron microscope, SNP etc. Newly recruited technical staff, scientists and other staff of the institute participated in this programme. The meeting was ended by vote of thanks by Dr S D Mohapatra, Co-Nodal Officer (HRD).
