Training cum Demonstration on CRRI biofertilizer model organized at Kumaradihi village, Kolabira Block, Jharsuguda district on 24.02.2025
Training cum Demonstration on CRRI biofertilizer model to farming community of Odisha was organized at Kumaradihi village, Kolabira Block, Jharsuguda district on 24.02.2025 under the project Jaivaposhak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ). Dr. Upendra Kumar Senior Scientist of ICAR-CRRI, is the Principal Investigator of this innovative project. This program was organized in collaboration with the organisation -‘Social Education for Women’s Awareness’ (SEWA) and moderated by Sri Chudamani Bariha from SEWA under the supervision of Sri Sushil Kumar Dash, Founder Secretary-SEWA. This program was coordinated by Dr. P Pannerselvam & Dr. AK Mukherjee, Principal Scientists from ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack. Dr. P Pannerselvam has emphasized and demonstrated on the decomposition of rice straw into valuable compost by utilising NRRI-Tech Decomposer along with cow dung and urea. He has also focussed on the importance and need for application of biofertilizers to conserve soil and environmental health. Dr. AK Mukherjee has elaborated on the benefits and applications of Rhizobium & NRRI Trichoderma to improve yield in pulse crops. He has also explained about the application of biofertilizers in various vegetable crops to improve yields in a sustainable manner. Dr. Sai Krishna Repalli, Research Associate of the project has elaborated the objectives of the project and methods to improve soil health by the application of NRRI-biofertilizers i.e; NRRI EndoN & NRRI EndoNPK which can compensate the chemical fertilizer requirement by 25%, thereby decreasing the input costs on agriculture without compromising yield. This program was facilitated by Sri Sarat Chandra Sahoo, Technical staff and other project staff of ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ and around 95 farmers and farmwomen from Trumuki Farmers Producer Company Ltd. Muradipalli village followed by Bajrang Farmers Producer Company Ltd. Baiganbud village & Jangalinga Mahila Farmers Producer Company Ltd. Kumaridihi village from Laikera & Kolabira blocks respectively have participated & benefitted from the program.
