Training cum Demonstration on CRRI biofertilizer model to farming community of Odisha was organized at Satyabhamapur village, Salipur block of Cuttack district on 18.02.2025 under the project Jaiva-poshak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ). Dr. Upendra Kumar, Senior Scientist of ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack, is the Principal Investigator of this innovative project. This program was organized in collaboration with Nigam Institute for Governing Activities of Mass (NIGAM) and coordinated by Sri Suresh Tripathy and Sri Ananta Pratihary from NIGAM. Sri Chandra Mohan Chand focussed on the importance and need for applications of Trichoderma and Rhizobium in pulse crops to improve yield and to sustain soil health. Smt. Swagatika Sahoo emphasized on the prospects of applications of NRRI-biofertilizers in various vegetable crops and demonstrated application of NRRI-liquid biofertilizers in seedling treatment of tomato, chillies and brinjal. The objectives of the project Jaiva-poshak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ) and demonstration of the NRRI-Tech Decomposer by decomposition of rice straw into valuable compost along with cow dung and urea was elaborated and explained by the project staff.
