33rd Dr. Gopinath Sahu Memorial Lecture Organized
The 33rd Dr. Gopinath Sahu Memorial Lecture was organized on 19 December 2024 at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack by Association of Rice Research Workers in association with Dr. Gopinath Sahu Memorial Trust, Cuttack and ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack through hybrid mode. The event commenced with an auspicious ceremonial lamp lighting and floral tributes to honour the revered legacy of Dr. Gopinath Sahu. Dr. Annie Poonam, Secretary, ARRW welcomed the guest and Dr. M.J. Baig, Vice-President, ARRW and Head, Crop Physiology & Biochemistry Division briefed about Dr. Gopinath Sahu and the memorial lecture. Dr. P.K. Mohapatra, President, Dr. Gopinath Sahu Memorial Trust was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Anjani Kumar, Editor-in-Chief, ARRW, introduced the speaker, Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack, who delivered the memorial lecture on ‘Agriculture 5.0: 5G driven SMART Agriculture’. Dr. Nayak explored the transformative realms of the agricultural revolution, the integration of digital technology into agriculture, advanced tools for smart farming, innovations in phenotyping, IoT sensors, and the futuristic potential of nanotechnology in crop improvement. Dr. P.K. Agrawal, President, ARRW & Joint Director (Education), ICAR-NIBSM, Raipur presided over the function and gave his presidential remark. Mrs. Basanti Sahu and Mrs. Pankajbasini Mohanty, family members of Dr. Sahu, graced the occasion with their presence. Dr. P. Sanghamitra, Treasurer, ARRW offered the vote of thanks.
