Reports of “Organization of Swachhata Hi Sewa-2024” with the theme “Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskar Swachhata” by ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack on 1.10.2024 and 2.10.2024
On 01.10.2024, with respect to the targeted activity of the “Schedule of organization of Swachhata Hi Seva-2024” on “Safai Mitra Samman: Story telling sessions-Feature stories from sanitation workers about their experiences and the importance of their work in maintaining cleanliness”; twenty-eight sanitation workers working in the Estate Management Section of the Institute attended a meeting held in Dr. K Ramiah Conference Hall at 3.30 PM. In the house, with the august presence of Dr. Amaresh Kumar Nayak, Director, NRRI, Cuttack; Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Debata, Former Principal, Stewart Science College, Cuttack & leading Environmentalist; the sanitation workers narrated their work experiences and how they are feeling proud through their sacrificed work for which they have been able to maintain cleanliness of the Institute along with its residential premises. One of the sanitation worker Sri Sudhir Naik requested to collect the office and household wastes in place of putting dust bins. In this programme the Institute Swachha Bharat Committee members, staff members of Estate Management Section; other Institute staff members were also present.
On 2.10.2024, with respect to the targeted activity of the “Schedule of organization of Swachhata Hi Seva-2024” on “Swachha Bharat Diwas: Felicitation of sanitation workers, citizen influencers to acknowledge their contributions to the Swachh Bharat Mission”; the concluding function of organization of Swachhata Hi Sewa-2024 along with celebration of Swachha Bharat Diwas was organized at 9.30 am in Dr. K. Ramiah Conference Hall in which Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Debata, Former Principal, Stewart Science College, Cuttack & leading Environmentalist; Dr. Amaresh Kumar Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack graced the occasion. Dr. Debata highlighted on the importance of “Swachhta Hi Seva” and advised to the august audience for paperless works in office and other working places. In his talk, he stressed upon adoption of “Cleanliness and greenery” in order to achieve Swachhata”; not to make dirtiness and also mobilize others not to make dirtiness to the valuable environment. In the presidential remarks, Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-NRRI highlighted on the prominent swachhta activities by the Institute during the period, September 15 to October 02, 2024. In his valuable speech, he expressed that “Swachhta” should not be the “destination” but should be a “Journey”. Through implementation of Government of India’s “Swachha Bharat Abhiyan” since 2014, our country and the Institute have been able to achieve a good shape. The Chief Guest Dr. Debata and Director Dr. A.K. Nayak felicitated the sanitation workers, citizen influencers and students awardees of CRRI Nodal Government High School, Cuttack participating in this closing function of SHS-2024. In this important occasion, staff members of ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack, its regional stations/KVKs; sanitation workers, citizen influencers; the Head Master and students of CRRI Nodal Government High School, Cuttack and Institute Swachha Bharat Committee members were present.
