Training program on NRRI-biofertilizer model & reclamation of acid soils was organized at Cuttack District

A training program on NRRI-biofertilizer model to farming community of Odisha & Reclamation of acid soils through Basic-slag & fly ash was organized at Kusunpur of Cuttack District, Odisha under the projects Production, Popularization and Supply of Quality Bioinoculants for Rice-based Cropping and Farming System of Odisha (Bio-ପୋଷକ) & SAFAR, respectively on 20.09.2024. The Course Director and PI of project Bio-ପୋଷକ is Dr. Upendra Kumar and the program is coordinated by Dr. Dibyendu Chatterjee, Dr. AK Mukherjee, Dr. Annie Poonam & Co-coordinated by Dr. B Mondal, Dr. Rubina Khanam & Dr. DR Sarangi. Advantages of NRRI-EndoN/ Azolla/ to manage Nitrogen requirement in rice were explained by Dr. Dibyendu Chatterjee; Dr. AK Mukherjee emphasized on the role of Trichoderma as biofertilizer; Dr. Annie Poonam explained about the prospects of integrated farming system; Dr. B Mondal focussed on the economic aspects of biofertilizers; Dr. Rubina Khanam dealt with reclamation of acid soils through Basic-slag & fly ash & Dr. DR Sarangi focussed on the importance of soil sampling & soil health card. A total number of 135 farmers and project staffs have participated and benefitted from this training program.
