International Yoga Day-2024
ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack celebrated the 10th International Yoga Day (IYD) on 21 June 2024 with the aim of promoting yoga as a holistic way of life among its staff and students. Dr. S.K. Dash extended a warm welcome to all the participants. The event focused on safeguarding the health and well-being of the institute’s community. A trained yoga expert practiced Yoga, Aasanas, Pranayam and Meditation following Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) issued by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. Dr. S.K. Dash, Chairman, International Yoga Day Committee, briefed the participants about the yoga day programme and its theme. Director, ICAR-NRRI, Dr. A.K. Nayak gave concluding remark. He emphasizing the importance of integrating yoga and meditation into daily life to maintain physical and mental health. Ms. Jayanti Bhoi, a Patanjali-certified Yoga instructor led the participants through a series of yoga asanas, pranayams and meditation techniques, that are beneficial in enhancing immunity and reducing stress and anxiety. Staff members and students of ICAR-NRRI actively participated in this programme.
