Brain storming session on “Adoption of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices, lessons learnt and way forward”

On the occasion of World Environment Day, as directed by Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare the ICAR-National Rice Research Institute is organizing week long campaign to promote awareness on Climate Resilient & Smart Agriculture. Under this context, ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack organized a brain storming session on “Adoption of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices, lessons learnt and way forward” in hybrid mode on 25th May, 2023 which was attended by about 80 participants. Dr. Sangita Mohanty, Senior Scientist, Crop Production Division, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack briefed about the programme and welcomed all the delegates. Dr. R.L. Verma, Senior Scientist, Crop Improvement Division, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack delivered a lecture on ‘Challenges in wide-spread adoption of hybrid rice variety by farmers’. Dr. Praveen Jakhar, Senior Scientist, ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar delivered a lecture on ‘Issues on dissemination and adoption of CSA practices by women farmers’. Dr. Rahul Tripathi, Senior Scientist, Crop Production Division, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack delivered a lecture on Experience sharing of adoption of CSA practices from RESILIENCE project’. Dr. P. Bhattacharyya, Head, Crop Production Division, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack delivered a lecture on ‘Challenges and issues in implementing CSA practices in rice production system in the vicinity of mangrove ecosystem’. After each lectures, various comments and suggestions were given by the participants. At the end, Director (I/c) Dr. M.J. Baig gave his remarks followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Rahul Tripathi.
