ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack celebrated World Intellectual Property Day on 26 April, 2023
The ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack celebrated World Intellectual Property Day on 26 April 2023 with all the staff members of the institute. The theme of this year is ‘Women and IP : Accelerating Innovation and Creativity’. At the outset, Dr. B.C. Patra, Principal Scientist, and I/c Institute Technology Management Unit (ITMU) welcomed the guest speaker and other participants and briefed about the objectives of the programme. He also read out the message of DG, ICAR for the ocassion. Dr. Anita Sabat, Managing Trustee, Odita Trust & Director, Sabat Exports Pvt. Ltd. delivered the talk on ‘Innovative Potential of Women in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)’ highlighting the Geographical Indications (GI) of Odisha including the potential of indigenous aromatic rice. Dr. Sanghamitra Samataray, Director (I/C), ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack gave her presidential remarks. The function ended with the vote of thanks offered by Dr. B. Mondal, Head, SSD.
