Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav – Celebration of 75 Years of India’s Independence at ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack

Our great Nation is poised to celebrate 75th Year of Independence as Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM). It’s a proud moment for all of us. ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack is celebrating AKAM in the same vein as that of our Nation. NRRI has planned Special Talks during next one year in the run up to completion of 75 years of our Independence, that will culminate on 15th August, 2022. The first Talk in the series – “Agripreneurship Led Extension” – was delivered by Dr P Chandra Shekara, Director General, National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad on August 18, 2021 at 15:00 Hrs on virtual mode. Dr Chandra Shekara delineated a road map as to how Agripreneurship led agricultural extension may assume a significant role in disseminating agri-technologies among our farmers. The virtual talk was attended by about 80 participants from NRRI and other ICAR Institutes and Agricultural Universities from across the country. The talk was followed by a lively discussion on the topic.

The program was presided over by Dr Dipankar Maiti, Director, ICAR-NRRI. The Guest Speaker was introduced to the audience by Dr Prakash Chandra Rath, Head, Crop Protection Division & Chairman, AKAM Committee at NRRI. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr N N Jambhulkar, Scientist, Social Science Division & Member of AKAM Committee at NRRI. Dr Sudhamoy Mandal, Principal Scientist, Crop Protection Division & Member-Secretary, AKAM Committee at NRRI anchored the whole program.
