Kishan Diwas organized by ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack at Ainepur village on 23rd December, 2024 (under Swachhata Pakhwada-2024 from 16-31 December, 2024)

In continuation to organization of “Swachhata Pakhwada-2024” from 16-31 December, 2024 at ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack; the Institute Swachha Bharat Committee organized Kishan Diwas on 23rd December, 2024 in Ainepur viilage under Nischintakoili block, Cuttack. Total 70 farm women and men attended the programme. Sister B.K.Sipra, dignitary from Brahma Kumari Meditation Centre, Balisahi, Nuapada, Cuttack (Odisha) was the chief guest of the programme. Dr. Srikanta Lenka, Chairman, Institute Swachha Bharat Committee welcomed all the guests and farmers to the programme and delivered an awareness talk on importance of keeping the houses and village neat and clean and also discussed about the harmful effects of using single use plastics. He also delivered a talk on mushroom cultivation and distributed mushroom spawn bottles to the farmers & farm women. Dr. Reshmi Raj K.R, Convener, Institute Swachhata Committee talked about the improved NRRI released rice varieties suitable fot theie ecosystem. There was a farmer-scientist’ interaction session, where one of the farmer requested for the timely supply of NRRI seeds. The sister B. K. Sipra from Brahma Kumari Meditation Centre delivered a talk on how to have a Swachha mind for a healthy and peaceful life. She discussed about how to handle bad emotions within ourselves and the importance of forgiving others for a happy life. The sister, B.K. Kabita and Brother, B.K. Gobind from Brahma Kumari Meditation Centre, Narasinghpur, Odisha attended also today’s programme. Mr. K.C. Mallick, ex-Technical officer, Crop Improvement Division of ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack attended the meeting and helped in successful organization of Kishan Diwas in this village. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Prasant Ku. Mallick, Project staff of Crop Protection Division. The Institute Swachha Bharat Committee members, Jeetendra Senapati, Tapas Kumar Behera, Krushna Chandra Munda and outsourcing staff Mr. Abhishek Bhoi assisted in the successfull organization of today’s Kishan Diwas programme.
