ICAR –CRRI, Cuttack organized 2-days training programme on “Estimation of GHGs emission from Rice under DSR and Transplanting Condition”
The ICAR- Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack organised a 2-day training programme on “Estimation of GHGs emission from Rice under DSR and Transplanting Condition” for participants for officials from KVK, Jaunpur and KVK II, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh and officials from Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (IGSD), Chandigarh during 27th -28thMay, 2025. The programme was sponsored by Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (IGSD), Chandigarh. The training programme commenced with an inaugural session chaired by Dr. Pratap Bhattacharyya, Principal Scientist and Head, Crop Production Division, ICAR-CRRI on 27th May, 2025. Dr. Bhattacharyya in his inaugural address emphasized the importance of the training to the participants. Dr. Bhattacharyya gave lectures on the topics ‘GHGs emission from rice, cause and consequences’ and ‘Measurement techniques of GHGs and carbon credit’. Dr. B. Raghavendra Goud, Scientist, Crop Production Division gave lectures on the topics ‘Package of practices of DSR and Transplanted rice’ and ‘Water and weed management in DSR and Drip irrigated rice’. The participants were exposed to techniques to measure GHGs from rice field under DSR and Transplanting Condition. The participants also undergone hand on trainings in the experimental field to gain more knowledge, which were highly appreciated by them. The sessions were prepared keeping in view of the need and availability of resources of the participants, so they found it suitable and interesting. The programme ended with a valedictory function and certificate and distribution on 28th May, 2025.
