Training cum Demonstration on CRRI biofertilizer model was organized at Kalada village, Kankadahad block of Dhenkanal district on 19.02.2025 

Training cum Demonstration on CRRI biofertilizer model to farming community of Odisha was organized at Kalada village, Kankadahad block of Dhenkanal district on 19.02.2025 under the project Jaiva-poshak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ). Dr. Upendra Kumar, Senior Scientist of ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack is the Principal Investigator of this innovative project. This program was organized in collaboration with I-Concept Initiatives (ICI) and coordinated by Sri Asutosh Panda from ICI, Dhenkanal. Dr. Sanghamitra Sahu, Scientist, KVK Dhenkanal, Sri. Bimbadhar Sahoo, Agriculture District Officer of Kamakshyanagar and Ms. Madhusmita Satapathy Agriculture Officer of Kankadahad block were the external resource persons present in the program.This program was facilitated by Project staff of Jaiva-poshak (ଜୈବ-ପୋଷକ) CRRI. The objectives of the project and methods to improve soil health by the application of NRRI-biofertilizers i.e;NRRI EndoN & NRRI EndoNPK which can compensate the chemical fertilizer requirement by 25%, thereby decreasing the input costs on agriculture, sustaining soil and environmental health without compromising yield was explained by project staff, also demonstrated the decomposition of rice straw into valuable compost utilising NRRI-Tech Decomposer along with cow dung and urea. Dr. Sanghamitra Sahu has focussed on natural farming and different biological methods to control common insect-pests. Sri Bimbadhar Sahoo emphasized on the importance and need for applications of Trichoderma and Rhizobium in pulse crops to improve yield and to sustain soil health. Sri. Madhusmita Satapathy emphasized on the prospects of applications of NRRI-biofertilizers in various vegetable crops and demonstrated application of NRRI-liquid biofertilizers in seedling treatment of tomato, chillies and brinjal. Altogether 81farmers and farmwomen have actively participated and benefitted from this program.
