30th Research Advisory Committee (RAC) Meeting
The 30th Research Advisory Committee (RAC) Meeting of ICAR-CRRI was held on 18-19 February 2025 under the Chairmanship of Dr. T. Mohapatra, Chairperson, PPV&FRA, Govt. of India. The members present were Dr. Shashidhar H.E., Ex-professor, University of Agricultural Science, GKVK Campus, Bangalore; Dr. D.K. Sharma, Ex-Director, ICAR-CSSRI, Karnal; Dr. M.K. Naik, Vice Chancellor (Former), Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural & Horticultural Sciences Shivamogga and Professor (Higher Academic Grade) University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, Karnataka; Dr. V. Chinnusamy, Joint-Director (Research), IARI, New Delhi; Dr. N.P. Singh, Member Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP), Govt. of India; Dr. S.K. Pradhan, ADG (FFC), ICAR, New Delhi; Dr. A.K. Nayak, Director, ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack; Shri Pawan Kumar Sahu, Farmer Representative from Jharkhand; Shri Amareswar Mishra, Farmer Representative from Odisha and Dr. R.M. Sundaram, Director, IIRR, Hyderabad as special invitee. The Director of the institute presented a brief report of major accomplishments of the institute and Heads of Divisions presented detailed reports of achievements made in the last year. The RAC Chairman and members commended the Institute’s scientists for their achievements over the past year, including new varieties, climate-resilient technologies, patents, high-impact publications, infrastructure development, and young scientist recruitment. The Director highlighted CRRI’s contribution to national food security, which was widely appreciated. RAC members emphasized the need to translate research into practical agricultural solutions and suggested new research avenues for sustainable development. After completion of the meeting, members visited research laboratories and new initiatives of the institute and appreciated the progress.
