Visit of the Director to Krishi Vigyan Kendra,Koderma for  reviewing   work progress on 1 Sept. 2021

Dr. Dipankar Maiti, Director, ICAR-NRRI,Cuttack accompanied by Dr.Shiv Mangal Prasad, Principal Scientist (Agronomy), CRURRS, Hazaribag Visited the KVK, Koderma for reviewing the progress on 1st September 2021 by.The Director appreciated the progress of works and instructed the I/C KVK , Dr.Chanchila Kumari to pursue the works of  vehicle repairing, construction of  implement shed , deep bore well and boundary wall (heightening) . During field visit of instructional farm he suggested to follow plant protection measures on time to save the pigeon pea crop.

Further Dr Maiti visited the villages Tarwan and Ergobad of Jainagar block where the activities of cluster demonstration of pigeon pea, use of plastic mulch in high value vegetable crops and NRRI newly released rice varieties were implemented. He suggested to upscale the vegetable production activities in group/ cooperative basis and gradually establish branding in local market to be expanded in District, State and National level in course of time.

Visit of the Director to the KVK, Chatra (BAU,Ranchi) for reviewing work progress under BIOTECH-KISAN Hub

Dr. Dipankar Maiti, Director,ICAR –NRRI,Cuttack on 3rd September 2021 visited KVK,Chatra, one of the partner institute in the DBT funded Project”Establishment of Bio Tech KISAN Hub at CRURRS (ICAR-NRRI),Hazaribag” for reviewing the progress of the Project activities (promotion of Poultry rearing, Apiculture and Lac cultivation) accompanied by the PI Dr Shiv Mangal Prasad, PS (Agronomy), CRURRS, Hazaribag. In the village Bahagarha of Hudum panchayat, Chatra where 42 Scheduled Caste farm families are the beneficiaries under poultry rearing activity and Divyayan Red as well as Kaveri dual purpose breeds have been demonstrated. Dr Maiti suggested to the beneficiary families to first meet the family requirements, particularly of the children (at least one egg per head / day) sell the surplus production. Dr. S M Prasad , P I of the project suggested to be in close contact with the scientists of KVK,Chatra.

In the village Pratappur where the Apiculture and Lac Production activities have been implemented , Dr Maiti emphasised to brand the Honey and in lac production to develop system of selling the produce directly to the purchaser not to the middle men.

Further he also visited the Nano fertilizer (DAP) trials of rice crop sponsored by the IFFCO in the research farm and also activities of pig and poultry rearing of KVK under ARYA Projects.
